According to the rumor mill, Shonda Rhimes is planning to give Scandal the boot. Scandal used to be my ish! It was fresh, exciting, and jaw dropping at times. Unfortunately, now it's like a filler show between Grey's Anatomy and whatever NBC throws on next (you know they like to play with the 10pm slot). I do hope it's a rumor and that the writing goes back to the beginning days of the fearless gladiators in suits.

HBCU Bethune-Cookman University has ticked off their graduating class, student body, and alumni by inviting the Donkey of the Day, U.S. Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, to deliver the commencement speech. The university refused to dis-invite DeVos causing protests, open letters, a petition drive, and requests for the university's president, Edison O. Jackson, to resign. Unfortunately, DeVos did follow through with the commencement ceremony, but was met with jeers and turned backs. Jackson threatened he'd send the student's diplomas by mail if they continued to taunt DeVos; however, the chorus of boos continued.

Jay-Z signs a $200 million, decade long deal with Live Nation. The deal covers production, promotion, and global touring. Michael Rapino, CEO of Live Nation, states that, “Jay-Z is one of the world’s preeminent touring artists. This [deal] strengthens the creative and business partnership of someone that continues to expand his touring base and reach.” Always the savvy businessman, Jigga is always in pursuit of the next best thing, and this deal is definitely a good look.
