58-year-old singer Natalie Cole, has come forward to inform the public that she has been diagnosed with Hepatitis C.
"I've been so fortunate to have learned so much from my past experiences. I am embraced by the love and support of my family and friends; I am committed to my belief in myself and in my abiding faith to meet this challenge with a heartfelt optimism and determination. This is how I intend to deal with this current challenge in my life."
Most likely she obtained the hepatitis from drug usage. Natalie Cole had a vicious drug habit that plagued her for several years. That addiction included sharing needles, doing heroin, taking LSD and smoking crack. Natalie's drug usage was described in an autobiography called Angel on My Shoulder, which was released in 2000.
Natalie Cole hails from a musical background, she is the daughter of the late Nat King Cole. Her uncle (Nat's brother), Freddy Cole is an accomplished singer/pianist. She was exposed to various jazz musicians, soul singers and blues greats at a very early age. Natalie herself began performing at 11-years-old.
Her doctor explains that she has had a "terrific response to her medication and is now virus negative."
That's wonderful! I wish Natalie continued success in her career and her personal life.
