Hendix Guitar Expected to Pull in 'Amilli'

Burned Hendrix guitar to be sold
One of the late great Jimi Hendrix's favorite Fender Stratocaster guitars will being auctioned off next month.

This is a collectors wet dream.

The Fame Bureau of London is selling the rocker's guitar along with various other rock memorabilia. It the famous guitar that was set ablaze by Hendrix with with lighter fuel during a performance at the Finsbury Astoria in London back in '67.

After that spectacular stunt, Jimi was rushed to hospital with minor burns to his hands. Now that's a helluva show.

The guitar suffered some damage along the neck and pick board but is in otherwise good shape. It was stored in his parents' garage, where it remained until it was unearthed last year by his nephew.

It is amongst other rock memorabilia to be auctioned by the Fame Bureau in London on September 4th. Auction specialists are expecting the guitar to sell for $1 million.

In 2006, Jimi's left-handed 1968 Stratocaster was sold for $168,000. I guess the value of Jimi memorabilia has gone up significantly.

  1. I am sure it will sell for some obscene amount of money.

  2. I'm sure it will. People will pay ridiculous amounts of money for celebrity memorabilia, but won't feed the homeless. It's crazy.
