Senator Ted Kennedy: UPDATE

Senator Edward Kennedy's condition has been updated. His doctors have confirmed he did not suffer a stroke as previously reported, he has been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor (glioma).

Apparently, the cancerous brain tumor in his left parietal lobe caused the seizure last weekend which many mistakenly thought was a stroke.

President Bush released a statement saying:

"Laura and I are concerned to learn of our friend Senator Kennedy's diagnosis. Ted Kennedy is a man of tremendous courage, remarkable strength, and powerful spirit. Our thoughts are with Senator Kennedy and his family during this difficult period. We join our fellow Americans in praying for his full recovery."

The 76-year-old senator is supposed to be hospitalized in at Boston's Mass General Hospital for a few more days before he can return to his Cape Cod home.
